In our high paced society it’s easy for our minds to become overwhelmed by the little things. I often catch myself worrying about small things that in the long run REALLY don’t matter.
Even something as small as my wifi not working at home or there’s no waves in the surf, can trigger a frustration where my mind can’t think about anything else.
Over the years I’ve learnt to deal with these little stresses, simply by giving myself the time to breathe. Surfing to me is something that allows me to sit, breathe and practice gratitude for my surroundings. I remind myself that things never go to plan and getting caught up in expectations can be destructive.
Clients reschedule, there isn’t always surf and some days you don’t feel like getting out of bed. Whether it’s on the beach, in the waves or on your bed at home, give yourself the time breathe and don’t stress the little things.
